Alex started out coaching the girls at Worthing RFC 12 years ago. The section developed from a handful to over 80 players. Following club coaching, Alex coached county rugby, culminating in him attaining Lead Coach for Development of Women and Girls; and then promoted to Lead Representative Coach for Women & Girls. Alex authored the girl’s county player pathway and helped establish more playing opportunities for female players at clubs, schools and colleges. Enjoying coaching so much, Alex changed his career and became a professional Level 3 Coach, and along with Tye started up Rhapsody Rugby and Rhapsody Coaching.
Tye is also a Level 3 Coach and started his coaching career at Horsham RFC. Having built the Horsham Girls section to well over 100 players, Tye went on to coach and manage girls' and women’s rugby at county level; and was integral in developing and expanding the female game. Since then Tye has gone onto to coach across the county, at college, and at university, for the Harlequins DPP programme and was assistant Coach in Ladies Championship 1 rugby for London Irish.
Recently he now coaches The Womens Rugby Team "The Panthers" at Brighton University.
Tye professionally mentors and coaches, as well as consulting for rugby clubs on behalf of Rhapsody Coaching,
We are rugby dads with daughters who play the game. We have always wanted the girls to enjoy all the good things about it; and to take advantage of the benefits that makes rugby such a brilliant sport. We would like even more girls to come into the sport and have that enjoyable experience too.
We created Rhapsody to put Women and Girls centre stage, giving them a dedicated environment where we can give all of them the maximum opportunity to fulfil their potential.
